Caregivers Support Network

If you are caring for someone over 60 who is frail or sick, our Caregivers Support Network can help. Our services are designed to reduce the strain you experience in caring for your loved one.

Individual and group counseling sessions help caregivers cope with the day-to-day challenges they face. Support groups offer the opportunity to meet others who understand the stress of caregiving.

We provide education and workshops to help you understand your loved one’s needs. The sessions address topics such as dealing with dementia and helping your loved one move safely around the home. We also help caregivers understand how to navigate healthcare systems.

We assist caregivers with applying for benefits and services. We can connect you to respite services, including Home Care and our Social Adult Day Program.

The network also provides support for grandparents age 55 and over caring for their grandchildren. We can help you access childcare and provide assistance applying for benefits and entitlements.

Sunnyside Community Services’ Caregiver Support Network is funded by the New York City Department for the Aging.
